Landmark East African Sovereign Power Generation Facility

The Kenya Rabai 90MW Thermal Power Plant & Grid Substation is a premier sovereign energy infrastructure development constructed in Rabai, Kilifi County, near Mombasa, Republic of Kenya. Commissioned under national utility expansion plans with Kenya Power & Lighting Company (KPLC) and the Ministry of Energy, the project was engineered and executed by GY & Sons Holding in joint venture with international power engineering consortia to provide reliable baseload electricity to the Kenyan coast and national power grid.

Engineered to rigorous international utility reliability benchmarks, the plant comprises high-efficiency heavy thermal generation engines equipped with closed-circuit cooling systems, exhaust gas heat recovery, dual 10,000 m³ heavy fuel oil storage facilities, and an integrated 132kV high-voltage step-up switchyard connecting directly to the Mombasa–Nairobi national transmission corridor.
