Project Overview & Strategic Scope

In line with our corporate mission to bridge technological divides and foster inclusive growth, GY & Sons Holding has engineered and deployed extensive National Optical Fiber Backbone Networks across critical corridors in East and Central Africa, connecting regional hubs in Egypt, Ethiopia, and neighboring transit territories.

This continental digital infrastructure comprises over 12,000 route-kilometers of heavy-armored terrestrial fiber optic cables laid along national highways and high-voltage power transmission easements. Utilizing cutting-edge Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) and coherent optical switching technologies, the network delivers multi-terabit capacity to support 4G/5G mobile backhaul, enterprise data transit, and sovereign e-government services.

By implementing a carrier-neutral open-access model, GY & Sons provides level-playing-field access for national telecommunications operators, international cloud hyperscalers, and regional Internet Service Providers (ISPs), dramatically reducing bandwidth costs and accelerating national digitization.

Key Facilities & Operational Systems

DWDM Long-Haul Backbone

Multi-terabit long-haul transmission systems with Raman optical amplifiers spaced every 80 km for pristine signal integrity.

Metro Dark Fiber Rings

Redundant metropolitan optical loops encircling major capital cities, connecting government ministries, banks, and commercial parks.

Subsea Cable Interconnects

Direct backhaul terrestrial links bridging Mediterranean and Red Sea subsea cable landing stations for seamless global routing.

Network Operations (NOC)

Centralized 24/7 Network Operations Center featuring real-time OTDR fiber fault localization and predictive maintenance dispatch.
