Landmark East African Sovereign Power Generation Facility

The Sudan 150MW Regional Thermal Power Station & High-Voltage Substation is a premier sovereign energy infrastructure development constructed in Rabai, Kilifi County, near Mombasa, Republic of Kenya. Commissioned under national utility expansion plans with Kenya Power & Lighting Company (KPLC) and the Ministry of Energy, the project was engineered and executed by GY & Sons Holding in joint venture with international power engineering consortia to provide reliable baseload electricity to the Kenyan coast and national power grid.

Engineered to operate continuously under harsh desert and semi-arid conditions, the facility features heavy-duty thermal generation units equipped with high-capacity centrifugal filtration, exhaust heat recovery boilers, a massive 45,000 m³ heavy fuel oil storage tank farm, and an integrated 220kV/110kV high-voltage step-up transformer substation connecting directly to the national transmission supergrid.
